St. Basil closing at the end of the school year

St. Basil has a strong contingent of students from the Northeast.

St. Basil Academy, in Jenkintown, announced today it will close at the end of the school year.

The school is run by the Provincial Council of the Sisters of Saint Basil the Great.

A Twitter statement read, in part, “We understand this unwelcome news brings shock, heartbreak and uncertainty to many in our school community. We, too, are heartbroken.”

The statement went on to say the school will continue providing quality education until the last day, and will work closely with families and faculty to help them find alternative choices for their futures. ••
