Crime log: Oct. 28, 2020

The Northeast Times provides an overview of crimes reported to the four police districts in the Northeast. The details are based on reports compiled by the Northeast Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Oct. 12 through 25

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd District Police

There were nine burglaries, which took place on the street at 700 Marley St. (Oct. 22), 600 Mayfair St. (Oct. 22), 6600 Eastwood St. (Oct. 22) and at a vehicle parked at 5600 Rising Sun Ave. (Oct. 19), all of which involved handguns; and also at the intersection of Bingham and Van Kirk streets (Oct. 20), 1800 Napfle Ave. (Oct. 22) and 5500 Hill Creek Court (Oct. 22), which did not involve weapons. Other burglaries happened at an apartment house at 2100 Glenview St. (Oct. 17) and a private residence at 6700 Akron St. (Oct. 22), and both incidents involved handguns.

There were 19 aggravated assaults that resulted in four people being arrested. Assaults on the street included incidents with handguns at the intersection of Rising Sun Avenue and Levick Street (Oct. 10), three times at 1700 Magee Ave. (Oct. 19), 6100 Castor Ave. (Oct. 21), 5500 Hill Creek Court (Oct. 21) and 500 E. Hill Creek Drive (Oct. 24); incidents with knives at 700 Adams Ave. (Oct. 12) and 6700 Castor Ave. (Oct. 24); and domestic assaults at the intersection of Horrocks Street and Cottman Avenue (Oct. 13, Corey Graham, 34), 600 Mayfair St. (Oct. 17) and 7200 Rutland St. (Oct. 21). Incidents at private residences included domestic assaults at 900 Carver St. (Oct. 13), 700 Longshore Ave. (Oct. 22, Bryant Russell, 44) and 1500 Benner St. (Oct. 23), an incident with a handgun at 5600 Miriam Road (Oct. 13, Chrismarqueze Tucker, 25) and an incident with a knife at 6300 Eastwood St. (Oct. 18, Aloiz Meze, 30). Other incidents took place at an apartment house at 6600 Martins Mill Road on Oct. 23 with a handgun and at a parking lot/garage at 7400 Bustleton Ave. on Oct. 25 with a weapon.

There were six burglaries, which targeted private residences at 1400 Faunce St. (Oct. 12), 5800 Rising Sun Ave. (Oct. 16), 2100 Disston St. (Oct. 19) and 6000 Alma St. (Oct. 15). An apartment house at 500 Benner St. was burglarized Oct. 20, and a commercial garage at 800 Cottman Ave. was burglarized Oct. 20. 

There were 72 thefts, which targeted 38 businesses, 23 vehicles, five street thefts, five private residences and a bicycle. Seven arrests were made. In addition, 17 vehicles were reported stolen, and 14 were recovered.

7th Police District

There were no reported robberies.

Artur Ustayev, 35, was arrested Oct. 24 following an aggravated assault with a handgun at 8300 Bustleton Ave. Other assaults happened on the street at 1900 Fuller St. (Oct. 24) with a handgun, 10700 Haldeman Ave. (Oct. 20) with no weapon and at an apartment house at 600 Red Lion Road (Oct. 17).

An apartment house at 2100 Grant Ave. was burglarized Oct. 14.

There were 34 thefts, which targeted 19 vehicles (including a stolen vehicle tag), 11 businesses, two street thefts, a private residence and a bicycle. In addition, five vehicles were reported stolen, and four were recovered. One arrest was made.

8th Police District

There were three robberies, which took place on the street at 3300 Fuller St. (Oct. 21) and 3000 Rhawn St. (Oct. 24), both of which involved handguns. A private residence at 8600 Jackson St. was robbed with a handgun on Oct. 12.

There were five aggravated assaults. William Henderson, 24, was arrested Oct. 20 following an assault with a handgun on the street at 3600 Chalfont Drive. Other assaults included a domestic assault at a private residence at 3500 Kyle Road (Oct. 13), two assaults with a knife at a prison facility at 8300 State Road (Oct. 12 and 21) and a gang-on-gang attack at a prison facility at 8100 State Road (Oct. 20).

There were two burglaries, which targeted a private residence at 3600 Academy Road (Oct. 20) and an apartment house at 2600 Welsh Road (Oct. 23). There was a burglary attempt at a private residence at 3000 Willits Road on Oct. 17.

There were 56 thefts, which targeted 27 vehicles (including a stolen car phone and three stolen vehicle tags), 22 businesses, five street thefts, a private residence and a nursing/retirement home. One arrest was made. In addition, seven vehicles were reported stolen, and one was recovered.

15th Police District

There were 14 robberies. Tyshawn Williams, 19, was arrested Oct. 24 following a robbery at a factory/warehouse at 5400 Rutland St., and Stefon Brinkley, 31, was arrested Oct. 21 following a robbery at a grocery store/deli at 4800 Frankford Ave. Robberies on the street took place at 5800 Charles St. (Oct. 16) and 4600 Van Kirk St. (Oct. 22) with handguns, 1400 Bridge St. (Oct. 12) with a weapon, and 3000 Fanshawe St. (Oct. 14), 4100 Roosevelt Blvd. (Oct. 18), 7300 Torresdale Ave. (Oct. 20), 5500 Tulip St. (Oct. 21), 4500 Cottage St. (Oct. 21) and 7000 Cottage St. (Oct. 22) with no weapons. Other robberies include a car hijacking at 4400 Torresdale Ave. (Oct. 14), an office building at 7900 State Road (Oct. 13) and a private residence at 5100 Akron St. (Oct. 20). 

There were 26 aggravated assaults that resulted in three arrests. Assaults on the street included incidents with guns at 4900 Frankford Ave. (Oct. 13), 1100 Fillmore St. (Oct. 17), 6600 Vandike St. (Oct. 20), 4200 Griscom St. (Oct. 20) and 3500 Tudor St. (Oct. 22, Michael Billings, 37); assaults with knives happened at 5800 Charles St. (Oct. 19) and 4400 Oakland St. (Oct. 24); assaults with other weapons happened at 2000 Haworth St. (Oct. 22), 4800 Tackawanna St. (Oct. 24), 2100 Lardner St. (Oct. 24) and 6900 Torresdale Ave. (Oct. 25); an assault with no weapon at 3200 Saint Vincent St. (Oct. 14); and domestic assaults at 1600 Church St. (Oct. 21) and 2100 Bridge St. (Oct. 20). Incidents at private residences included an assault with a handgun at 4600 Sheffield Ave. (Oct. 24), assaults with knives at 7200 Walker St. (Oct. 12, Kristina Rystar, 38) and twice at 1100 Harrison St. (Oct. 24), an assault with another weapon at 1500 Womrath St. (Oct. 17) and domestic assaults at 4100 Hellerman St. (Oct. 22), 1300 Kennedy St. (Oct. 12), 3400 Longshore Ave. (Oct. 20), 5400 Valley St. (Oct. 20) and 2100 Anchor St. (Oct. 17). Other assaults happened at an apartment house at 5200 Cottage St. (Oct. 23, Sterling Enos, 46) and a retail location at 7000 Roosevelt Blvd. (Oct. 17). 

There were nine burglaries. Joseph McDevitt, 20, was arrested Oct. 13 following a burglary at a private residence at 3200 Unruh Ave. Other burglaries took place at private residences at 3400 Tyson Ave. (Oct. 20), 4700 Lansing St. (Oct. 25), the intersection of Walker and Wellington streets (Oct. 18) and 1600 Granite St. (Oct. 19), as well as an attempt at 3300 Aldine St. (Oct. 24). Other burglaries took place at an apartment house at 1600 Granite St. (Oct. 13), a department store at 4500 Castor Ave. (Oct. 15), a bar/cafe at 7200 Frankford Ave. (Oct. 14) and an unlisted location at 2100 Church St. (Oct. 16). 

There were 66 thefts, which targeted 23 vehicles (including nine stolen vehicle tags), 19 businesses, 13 street thefts, 10 private residences and a bicycle. Three arrests were made.
