Municipal Court Judge James M. DeLeon last week held four men in connection with the March 13 murder of police Cpl. James O’Connor.
O’Connor, of Millbrook, was working as a member of SWAT when he was shot to death as he was serving a fugitive murder arrest warrant at 1688 Bridge St. in Frankford.
That fugitive, Hassan Elliott, is charged in O’Connor’s killing. Elliott, 22, and Bilal Mitchell, 20, were both held on murder charges following the end of a preliminary hearing on Nov. 18. DeLeon dropped a murder charge against Khalif Sears, 19, though he is facing an attempted murder charge. Sherman Easterling, 25, was held on gun charges.
O’Connor was promoted to sergeant after his death.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Joanne Pescatore. ••
