Paul Ragan and his son and brother each lost a good amount of hair on Monday, all for a good cause.

Paul Ragan, an aide to City Councilman Bobby Henon, lost his mom to pancreatic cancer in 2003 and a cousin to the disease in April, and has another cousin battling it now.

Ragan created a GoFundMe page, Haircuts for Health (Fight Pancreatic Cancer), to raise money for the Quakertown-based Pancreatic Cancer Cure Foundation.

To raise money, Ragan promised to have his head shaved. His son Patrick, a Port Richmond resident, agreed to have his hair cut short for the first time in four years. His brother Matt, of Pine Valley, needed a haircut after letting it grow some during the pandemic.

The three men arrived at Unique Cuts, 2909 Holme Ave, on Monday. Manager Nancy Mao shaved Paul Ragan’s head, with a little help from Henon. Tracy Khim cut Patrick Ragan’s hair, including some that will be given to Wigs for Kids. Davy Tab cut Matt Ragan’s hair short.

The Unique Cuts ladies not only volunteered their services, but donated to the cause.

You, too, can donate by going to the GoFundMe page listed above. ••
