Man dies in Bustleton accident

A 22-year-old man died on Saturday night, two weeks after an auto accident at Verree Road and Bloomfield Avenue.

On Saturday, Feb. 12, at about 8:05 p.m., an auto vs. auto crash occurred.

The preliminary police investigation revealed that Unit No. 1, a 2008 Nissan, was traveling northbound on Verree Road at a high rate of speed when it made contact with Unit No. 2, a 2002 Dodge that was traveling south on Verree Road and turning left to eastbound Bloomfield Avenue.

As a result of the impact, Unit No. 1 flipped onto its roof and the operator was partially ejected. Both passengers of Unit No. 1 were totally ejected from the vehicle. The operator of Unit No. 1 and both passengers were transported to local hospitals, where they were listed in critical condition.

The operator of Unit No. 2 was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

The Medical Examiner’s Office notified the police Accident Investigation Division that Matthew Coll was pronounced dead at 5:56 p.m. ••
