GoFundMe set up, funeral plans announced for accident victim

A GoFundMe page has been established and funeral services set for the 22-year-old Fox Chase man who died Feb. 26, two weeks after an auto accident at Verree Road and Bloomfield Avenue.

Police identified the victim as Matthew Joseph Coll. He was a passenger in a 2008 Nissan that police said was traveling northbound on Verree at a high rate of speed on the evening of Feb. 12. Police said that vehicle hit a southbound 2002 Dodge that was turning left on Bloomfield.

The Nissan flipped onto its roof and the operator was partially ejected. Coll and the other passenger, his brother, were totally ejected from the vehicle.

The GoFundMe will help Coll’s family pay for his medical bills and other expenses. To donate, go to https://gf.me/v/c/h3ss/help-support-the-coll-family.

According to an obituary on the Wackerman Funeral Home website, Coll was the beloved son of Michael and Colleen Coll; loving brother of Brenna, Michael, Thomas and Caitlin; and devoted grandson of Thomas and Joanne McDonald and the late Michael and Dorothy Coll. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects to the family on Thursday, March 10, from 6-8 p.m., and Friday, March 11, from 9-11 a.m., at Wackerman, 8060 Verree Road. A service will begin at 11.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Matthew’s memory to the Gift of Life Donor Program 401 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia, PA 19123, www.donors1.org would be appreciated.

The family requests that relatives and friends attending Matthew’s visitation wear Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, Phillies or Sixers apparel. ••
