Arrest made in Frankford murder

Police have arrested a man suspected in Monday night’s murder in Frankford.

At about 8:43 p.m., 15th Police District officers responded to a 911 call for gunshots on the 4800 block of Frankford Ave. (Chinese takeout restaurant). A 34-year-old white male suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and back.

Police transported the victim to Temple University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at 9:07 p.m. A weapon was recovered and a male taken into custody.

Police later arrested Jamel Taylor, 30, of the 400 block of W. Duncannon Ave. in Olney. He was charged with murder, several counts of Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act [Former Convict, On Streets, No License], possession of firearm with altered manufacturer’s number, terrorist threats and recklessly endangering another person. ••
