A breast cancer screening and women’s health community event took place on Friday at the future site of Temple Health’s women’s hospital, 1331 E. Wyoming Ave.
The day included free health screenings for women as well as information about cancer and heart and chest health; financial counseling; pediatrics; healthy farm-grown foods; and maternal wellness.
Mammograms were offered inside the Fox Chase Cancer Center Mobile Screening Unit at no cost to women. The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition provided $25 Walmart gift cards for all women who got their mammograms.
The breast cancer coalition welcomes people to visit PABreastCancer.org to register for its annual conference, to be held virtually on Oct. 14. The website also allows women with breast cancer to order the free Friends Like Me package of information and gifts ••
