Candlelight vigil in memory of slain Exxon worker

A candlelight vigil took place on Saturday in memory of Siboram “Pat” Patro, who was shot to death while working at the Exxon gas station at 7150 Torresdale Ave.

The incident happened at 4:02 a.m. on Jan. 17. Officers from the 15th Police District responded to a report of a person with a gun. A man was located behind the counter with gunshot wounds to the back. A fire department medic unit pronounced him dead at 4:10 a.m. Police identified the victim as Patro, 67, of the 1100 block of Wellington St. He was the victim of an apparent robbery.

On Jan. 25, police announced the arrests of Chiheam Jones, 38, of Philadelphia; Robert Miller-Crafter, 25, of Chester; and Keyon Vincent, 21, of Philadelphia. They’ve been charged with murder, robbery, criminal conspiracy, possessing an instrument of crime, tampering with evidence, theft and violations of the Uniform Firearms Act.

Patro’s family and friends attended the vigil. They were joined by city Town Watch’s Greg Bucceroni, Northeast Quality of Life Coalition chairwoman Barb Rup and mayoral candidate Allan Domb, who also paid his respects to Patro’s widow and son at their home. Local clergy offered prayer. ••
