Now that the holiday season is over, we’d like to thank our readers for making the 75th annual Eleanor Smylie Community Fund outreach program a success.
Each year, the fund — named in memory of our late chairwoman — relies on the generosity of readers. All money collected is used to buy supermarket gift cards for needy individuals and families.
Funds were collected from about Thanksgiving to Christmas, and some of the later donors we’d like to thank include Nicholas Cruz, Edward J. Cimorelli, Shirley Quirus, Irvin J. Farber, Walter C. and Virginia J. Rininsland, Florence Flade and Mystic Lodge No. 270. In addition, we had a number of anonymous donations and others in memory of folks, such as Allan H. Levin and May Szymborski.
