A 31-year-old smoke shop employee was injured during a robbery at the Cloud Nine Smoke Shop on the 2000 block of Cottman Avenue on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. when an armed suspect entered the store and demanded cash. According to the police report, the worker complied, placing money in a bag as instructed.
The situation escalated when the employee attempted to disarm the gunman. The suspect fired multiple shots, hitting the worker once in the leg.
First responders transported the injured employee to a nearby hospital. He was in stable condition.
The suspect, described as a heavyset man in his mid-40s with a dark complexion, wearing an Eagles jacket, a gray-and-white hooded sweatshirt, black pants, a blue mask, and orange glove.
The gunman fled the shooting scene in a black Jeep, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Northeast Philly police are continuing their investigation and urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
