Two NE men dead in unrelated shootings

Gunfire claimed the lives of two Northeast men in separate shootings last week.

On Wednesday at about 10:44 p.m., police found Jovanni Ouolo, 19, of the 5900 block of Belden St. in Oxford Circle, lying in the 3000 block of N. Howard St. with gunshot wounds of the head, chest and torso. Paramedics took him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:46 p.m.

Police believe that Ouolo was involved in an argument, but there are no suspects or descriptions.

At about 1:14 a.m. the following morning, police were called to the 6700 block of Marsden St. in Tacony where they found Tyshan Jones, 29, of the 6300 block of Marsden, lying in the street with gunshot wounds of the head and neck. He died at the scene.

A short time later, authorities found a second wounded man inside a house on the 4600 block of Unruh Ave. The 28-year-old had wounds of the right side and back. Police took him to Aria Health’s Torresdale hospital in critical condition. His name was not released. Police did not know a motive or suspects in the latter slaying. ••
