Man critical after being shot five times

A Holmesburg man with a history of drug convictions has been charged with attempted murder and numerous related offenses after he allegedly shot another man five times on a neighborhood street.

Police say that Khalil Lark, 20, and a 21-year-old man were arguing on the 4700 block of Meridian St. at about 4:50 p.m. on Jan. 28 when Lark pulled out a gun and began shooting.

The victim suffered multiple wounds of the stomach and torso, said Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum of Northeast Detectives. Officers took him to Aria Health’s Torresdale Campus, where he was admitted in critical condition. The victim remained critical on Monday, Rosenbaum said. Authorities have not released his name.

Lark, who lives on the same block of Meridian Street, fled the area of the shooting, but witnesses described him to police. Officers from the 15th district captured Lark a short time later near Cottman and Torresdale avenues, Rosenbaum said.

Lark is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, weapons offenses and related crimes. He remains in prison in lieu of $1 million bail. ••
