A bicyclist from Upper Holmesburg died Sunday, six days after being struck by a hit-and-run motorist several blocks from his home.

The crash occurred May 28 at about 11 p.m. on the 8800 block of Torresdale Ave. The vehicle undercut Richardson, who tumbled onto the hood, then to the asphalt, Little said. The vehicle mangled the bicycle and dragged it a short distance.

The vehicle fled in an unknown direction, Little said. Police have not released a description of the vehicle or the driver. There have been no arrests.

WPVI-TV has reported that police on May 29 recovered a vehicle that may have been involved in the crash. It was parked unattended on the 4500 block of Enfield Ave., a tree-lined street about seven blocks from the crash site. ••
