Men tried to steal guns from Far Northeast store, police say

Authorities are investigating after two men broke in a Dick’s Sporting Goods and attempted to steal firearms.

Police are looking for two men who broke into the Dick’s Sporting Goods near Philadelphia Mills Mall on Tuesday, Jan. 22, and tried to steal several guns.

The suspects abandoned the effort after failing to snatch a gun and ultimately left the store without taking anything, authorities said.

Officers responded to Dick’s at 20 Franklin Mills Boulevard around 2:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a burglary. Surveillance video showed the men using a hatchet to smash the front door windows.
