Police investigating gunfire, crash in Far Northeast

Officers recovered a weapon at the scene of a car crash Sunday night on the 4000 block of Woodhaven Road.

Detectives are investigating after shots were fired and a car crashed Sunday night near the Knights and Woodhaven roads in the Far Northeast.

Officers responded to the 4000 block of Woodhaven Road around 9:30 p.m. for reports of an accident and gunshots. They recovered a weapon and found a Subaru Forester that had crashed into parking beams, police said.

The car’s occupants fled the scene before officers arrived, authorities said.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday morning. The Northeast Detective Division is investigating the incident. ••
