The Philadelphia Zoo last week unveiled its Creatures of Habitat: A Gazillion-Piece Animal Adventure exhibit.

On hand for the exhibit debut were Zoo president and CEO Vikram Dewan, chief marketing officer Amy Shearer and City Representative Sheila Hess, who said she’s loved the Zoo since she went there on her St. Maria Goretti High School senior class trip.

The exhibit features 12 life-size Lego brick vignettes that include more than 30 animals, spotlighting the issues animals are facing and the heroes working to save them.

In all, more than 350,000 Lego bricks are used, the creation of artist Sean Kenney. The chameleon consists of 49,764 pieces. The lion uses 48,248.

Zoo keys can be used to listen to audio about the subjects in English and Spanish. Keys cost $3, and proceeds go to animal conservation programs. They come in the shapes of lions, bears, gorillas and alligators.

The exhibit will run through Sept. 30.

The Zoo is at 34th Street and Girard Avenue. Hours are daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit philadelphiazoo.org/coh ••
