Police Explorers honored for their service

Last week, the young men and women of Philadelphia Police Explorers 991 were honored for their achievements during the 2018-2019 year.

Awards were given out honoring success in years of service, training and the Police Explorer of the Year, who was Sgt. Kiara Romero, an Archbishop Ryan High School student who plays lacrosse and volunteered more than 840 hours in the last year and a half. State Rep. Martina White later presented her with a citation.

The Philadelphia Police Explorer Cadet Program is accepting applications for young adults 14-20 years of age, interested in a career in law enforcement. Go to www.ppdexplorers.org. ••
