A 26-year-old man is in critical condition at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital after being shot Saturday outside an apartment building on Willits Road, police said.

Officers at around 12:40 p.m. responded to the 3300 block of Willits for a report of a person with a gun and found the man on the ground bleeding. Police said he was shot once in each leg.

There were several witnesses to the shooting, and the suspect, Tysheem Watts, 22, remained at the scene and was taken into custody, investigators said.

Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum, of Northeast Detectives, said Watts knew the man and came to the apartment to look for him. The two got into an argument over money and engaged in a struggle before shots were fired, investigators said.

Watts was charged with aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime with intent and related charges, according to court documents.

He legally owned the gun allegedly used in the shooting, Rosenbaum said. ••
