The Northeast Times would like to congratulate the following college graduates, students who were named to their school’s dean’s list, and area residents who recently received special honors.

Daniel Wisniewski graduated magna cum laude from Ithaca College’s School of Humanities and Sciences with a degree in musical theater.

Daamir Robinson-Johnson was awarded the Andrea Grove Iseminger ’59 Fund for Off-Campus Studies at Carleton College in Minnesota.

Wheaton College student Julia Peterman was named to the dean’s list. To earn dean’s list honors at Wheaton, which is in Illinois, an undergraduate student must carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.

The following local residents graduated from Albright College: Anthony Benincasa (degree in business administration/Spanish), Kosso Diop (accounting/business administration/French), David Gavrilov (business administration: management), Amy Hang (digital media/music business), Alexis Jenofsky (theater and arts administration), Lani Panico (communications: journalism/English), Hannah Waldron (environmental studies and biocultural anthropology), Zahkirrah Walton (communications: public relations and advertising/music business) and David Zuniga (business administration: finance and international business).

Wilkes University announced its dean’s list. To be named to the dean’s list, students must obtain a minimum 3.4 grade point average and carry at least 12 credits. Local members of the dean’s list are Shayna Fehrle and Jessica Kouch.

The following local students have been named to the University of Delaware dean’s list: Andrew Lenherr, Emily Jardel, Madelynn Corcoran, Nhu Nguyen, Rebecca Fruehwald and Tara O’Brien.

Hofstra University congratulates Nicolette Michalowski and Jada Rawlinson-Carter for being named to the dean’s list for their outstanding academic achievement. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to make the dean’s list.

Mahrukh Choudhary and other first-year Doctor of Medicine students received the first symbol of their new profession as Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine held its ninth annual White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2021 on Aug. 4 in Scranton.

Wilkes University will welcome more than 600 students into the class of 2021. Local students are Aisha Abuhanak, a pharmacy major; Sean Bonner, a mechanical engineering major; Missiah Mason, a sports management major; and Brianna Sailor, a nursing major. Freshmen attended a welcome weekend Aug. 25–27 and started classes Aug. 28.

Tina Pennypacker achieved her bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from the online Western Governors University. She is employed with HealthPartners. ••
