Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane’s office announced on Monday the arrest of a Wissinoming man and two others for allegedly sharing child pornography on the internet and downloading it.
The state prosecutor said in a news release that agents from the office’s Child Predator Section were investigating the online sexual abuse of children when they identified a computer connected to a peer-to-peer network that was sharing a media file that appeared to contain child pornography. The investigators linked the computer’s IP address to Towarnicki.
Towarnicki was charged with 20 counts of possessing child porn and one count each of distributing child porn and criminal use of a communication facility. He posted 10 percent of $25,000 bail and was released pending a June 16 preliminary hearing.
Philadelphia police assisted in the arrest. ••
