Dispensary updates discussed in Bustleton

Neighbors learned about minor updates regarding the proposed dispensary on Krewstown Road during the latest Greater Bustleton Civic League meeting.

The conversation about the potential medical marijuana dispensary continued amongst other local updates at the Oct. 25 Greater Bustleton Civic League meeting.

News about the dispensary proposed for 8900 Krewstown Road was scarce, but association president Jack O’Hara said he is continuing the conversation with Keith Morgan of Holistic Pharma.

“I requested to him that the building looks nice,” O’Hara said. “I want it to be the golden standard of dispensaries in the state.”

Morgan last week told the Northeast Times he is continuing to look at the Krewstown location with the “expectation [they] will open there.” O’Hara said that he would like to make the community’s requests clear to Morgan if they do decide to move forward with the dispensary.

O’Hara showed examples of upscale medical facilities at the meeting, pointing out the “top shelf” signage and lighting for the buildings.

“If it opens, I want it to be an upgrade to that corner, and resemble an upscale retail outlet,” he said.

O’Hara said he is working on a formal list of requests for the building to submit to Morgan if it were to open.

In zoning issues, neighbors approved in a 25–5 vote the conversion of a garage to a living space at 1133 Kent Lane. Many houses on that street already have done that same conversion, but some have not obtained the legal variance for it.

Neighbors raised concerns about multiple families living in the property, but the owner assured them it was not the case.
