Domb donates to local schools

Councilman Allan Domb presented four local elementary schools with checks.

City Councilman Allan Domb, who donates his salary to public schools and nonprofits, recently presented $2,500 each to four local elementary schools.

The local beneficiaries were Benjamin Franklin, which will purchase a variety of much-needed school supplies; William Loesche, which will use the funds to match a Neubauer Grant for a Playworks Coach for daily socialized recess; Sullivan, which plans to use Domb’s donation to cover teachers receiving professional development courses on mathematics and financial literacy training; and Rhawnhurst, which will use the grant funds to purchase Chromebooks to improve its STEM lessons.

Since taking office in 2016, Domb has funded programs in 45 public schools.

“I enjoy visiting these schools and seeing the excitement that our young people have about learning,” he said. “We have kids who want to learn and teachers who work very hard, but we don’t have proper funding. That’s why I am glad to be able to sponsor individual programs at each of these great schools.” ••
