The Mayfair Community Development Corporation on Sunday hosted its annual Christmas Village and tree lighting at Frankford and Cottman avenues.

More than 30 vendors were in attendance. Santa Claus posed for pictures, and Mrs. Claus handed out candy canes.

The event featured a disc jockey, live music, face painting and appearances by Frosty the Snowman and McGruff the Crime Dog.

Dr. Anne Marie Muldoon collected for the Toys for Tots campaign. Muldoon said donations of all toys are needed, particularly baby dolls for girls ages 3-6. Donations can be dropped off at her chiropractic office at 6233 Frankford Ave.

Among those in attendance were City Councilmen Bobby Henon and Al Taubenberger, elections commission chairwoman Lisa Deeley, state Reps. Kevin Boyle and Mike Driscoll and state Rep.-elect Joe Hohenstein.

In keeping with tradition, Deeley led the crowd in singing the Eagles fight song.

Hohenstein said he will keep former Rep. John Taylor’s office at 4725 Richmond St., adding that it will open in mid-December. Another office is planned for Cottman Avenue. Former campaign aide Aileen Callaghan and former Democratic primary rival Dan Martino will oversee the offices. ••
