A 41-year-old man was in critical condition after being shot in the back Thursday night in Summerdale, police said.
Officers responded to the 700 block of Foulkrod Street and found the man with one gunshot wound to the left side of his back, authorities said. Police took him to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.
Multiple media outlets reported that the shooting was the result of a road rage altercation between the 41-year-old man and a 70-year-old man. The older man told police he fired his gun in self-defense after the man who was shot began kicking his car, according to the reports.
No charges have been filed in the case, authorities said. ••
