A 21-year-old man was shot Sunday night in Mayfair after three masked men allegedly jumped out of a car and opened fire on a group of people.

Officers responded to the scene on the 3100 block of Barnett Street around 11 p.m. They found the victim, who had been shot twice.

He told police he was on the corner of Barnett and Hawthorne streets with several other people when a gold or green sedan pulled up to them, authorities said. Three men wearing ski masks jumped out and fired numerous shots, hitting the man while he was in the rear driveway of the block.

The suspects fled northbound on Hawthorne Street, police said.

The 21-year-old was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in stable condition, but he refused to answer additional questions from investigators, police said.

Detectives are actively investigating the shooting. ••
