Roosevelt Boulevard hit-and-run leaves woman in critical condition

A 74-year-old woman was hit Wednesday night while crossing Roosevelt Boulevard. The driver fled the scene.

A 74-year-old woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing Roosevelt Boulevard near Cottman Avenue, authorities said.

Police said the crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, in the outer southbound lanes of the Boulevard.

The woman was hit so hard that she was launched over a four-foot fence separating the lanes, according to multiple media reports. She was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, authorities said.

Police are looking for the driver who fled the scene in what was only described as a dark-colored vehicle. There were no arrests as of Tuesday. ••
