Crime Log: Sept. 16 – 29

The Northeast Times provides an overview of crimes reported to the four police districts in the Northeast. The details are based on reports compiled by the Northeast Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd Police District

There were nine robberies, most of which took place on the street. These took place at 700 Borbeck Ave. (Sept. 29), which involved a handgun, and 1900 Princeton Ave. (Sept. 21), 6100 Summerdale Ave. (Sept. 22), 2100 Knorr St. (Sept. 23), 6500 Rising Sun Ave. (Sept. 24) and 500 E. Cheltenham Ave. (Sept. 26), all of which did not involve weapons. Other robberies took place at a drugstore at 7300 Oxford Ave. (Sept. 27), a private residence at 4800 Roosevelt Blvd. (Sept. 16) and a bank at 700 Adams Ave. (Sept. 18).

There were 11 aggravated assaults. Terrell Wilkerson, 27, was arrested Sept. 16 following a domestic assault on the street at 5500 Hill Creek Circle. Assaults on the street took place at the intersection of Castor and Magee avenues (Sept. 16) and the intersection of Summerdale Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard (Sept. 22), both of which involved handguns; 700 Mayfair St. (Sept. 28), which involved knives; 500 Adams Ave. (Sept. 21) and 700 Adams Ave. (Sept. 23), both of which involved other weapons; and 1400 Higbee St. (Sept. 23) and 6300 Lawndale St. (Sept. 21), which did not involve weapons. Other assaults took place at private residences at 5900 Alma St. (Sept. 29) and 1400 Magee Ave. (Sept. 22) and a retail location at 900 Levick St. (Sept. 19).

There were six burglaries and one attempt. Apartment houses were burglarized at 6900 Oakland St. (Sept. 27) and 7100 Castor Ave. (Sept. 23). Chain retail locations at 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. were burglarized twice on Sept. 28. A church at 6000 Roosevelt Blvd. was burglarized Sept. 21. A private residence was burglarized at 5500 Hill Creek Place on Sept. 28, and a burglary attempt was made at 900 Sanger St. on Sept. 16.

There were 98 thefts, which targeted 41 businesses, 40 vehicles (including four stolen vehicle tags), 12 street thefts, three private residences and two bicycles. Nine arrests were made.

7th Police District

There were no reported robberies.

There were three aggravated assaults, which included a domestic assault at an apartment house at 1000 Red Lion Road (Sept. 21), an assault on the street at 10900 Bustleton Ave. (Sept. 17) and an assault at a mental institution at 8800 Krewstown Road (Sept. 23).

There were four burglaries, which took place twice at an apartment house at 9800 Northeast Blvd. (Sept. 21), a factory/warehouse at 12000 Roosevelt Blvd. (Sept. 23) and a church/synagogue at 11000 Bustleton Ave. (Sept. 18).

There were 36 thefts, which targeted 14 businesses, 12 vehicles (including two stolen vehicle tags and a stolen car phone), four street thefts, two apartment houses, a bicycle, a public school, a nursing/retirement home and an unlisted location. Five arrests were made.

8th Police District

There were four robberies, which took place on the street at 3200 Red Lion Road (Sept. 24) and 8500 Frankford Ave. (Sept. 22), at a gas station at 8700 Frankford Ave. (Sept. 24) and at an unlisted location at 2800 Holme Ave. (Sept. 25).

There were four aggravated assaults. Raymond Headrick, 52, was arrested Sept. 21 following a domestic assault at a private residence at 2700 Maxwell St., and Bruce Allan Epp, 31, was arrested Sept. 21 following a domestic assault at a private residence at 3100 Byberry Road. Other assaults took place at prison facilities at 8100 State Road (Sept. 19) and 8300 State Road (Sept. 20).

There were five burglaries and two attempts, which resulted in two arrests. Jonathan Paluch, 31, was arrested Sept. 24 following the burglary of an office building at 1700 Franklin Mills Circle, and Dezhaunae White-Bell, 24, was arrested Sept. 29 following a burglary at an unlisted location at 8100 Frankford Ave. Other burglaries took place at a restaurant at 8200 Frankford Ave. (Sept. 26), an unlisted location at 3800 Grant Ave. (Sept. 23), a private residence at 8100 Farnsworth St. (Sept. 21) and an attempt at a private residence at 3900 Amherst Place (Sept. 24).

There were 41 thefts, which targeted 15 vehicles (including five stolen vehicle tags), 14 businesses, three bicycles, two private residences, two apartment houses, two nursing/retirement homes, a hospital, a street theft and an unlisted location. Two arrests were made.

15th Police District

There were 24 robberies, which yielded three arrests. Neheem Williamson, 23, was arrested Sept. 16 following a robbery on the street at 4800 Penn St. involving a knife, Shawn Crawford, 41, was arrested Sept. 29 following a robbery on the street at 4300 Orchard St. and Adonis Allen, 21, was arrested Sept. 23 following a robbery of a vehicle at 4300 Howell St. Many robberies took place on the street, including incidents that involved handguns at 3300 Vista St. (Sept. 16), 4500 Loring St. (Sept. 18), 4700 Loring St. (Sept. 18), 1600 Pratt St. (Sept. 22), 7000 Keystone St. (Sept. 23) and 5200 Oxford Ave. (Sept. 29); an incident involving a knife at 6500 Vandike St. (Sept. 28); and incidents involving no weapons at 400 Devereaux Ave. (Sept. 16), 7300 Roosevelt Blvd. (Sept. 16), 2700 Elbridge St. (Sept. 20), 5200 Torresdale Ave. (Sept. 20), 2900 McKinley St. (Sept 21), 6800 Jackson St. (Sept. 22), 2900 Disston St. (Sept. 23), 1600 Bridge St. (Sept. 27), 6800 Torresdale Ave. (Sept. 28) and 1600 Church St. (Sept. 29). Other robberies took place at a private residence at 1600 Fillmore St. (Sept. 16) which involved a handgun, a bank at 6600 Roosevelt Blvd. (Sept. 24), a mini market at 4200 Levick St. (Sept. 18) and a vehicle parked at 1000 Bridge St. (Sept. 17).

There were 10 aggravated assaults. Kina Gilliam, 40, was arrested Sept. 18 following an assault on the street at 7000 Frankford Ave. Other assaults on the street included a domestic assault at 4400 Hedge St. (Sept. 17), assaults involving handguns at 2300 Orthodox St. (Sept. 23) and 1400 Church St. (Sept. 27), assaults with no weapons at 7000 Frankford Ave. (Sept. 18), 2300 Adams Ave. (Sept. 22) and 6800 Torresdale Ave. (Sept. 25) and domestic assaults at 4400 Cottman Ave. (Sept. 19) and 4600 Hellerman St. (Sept. 20). A domestic assault took place at a private residence at 4400 Cottman Ave. on Sept. 19.

There were seven burglaries, most of which targeted private residences. These happened at 4200 Princeton Ave. (Sept. 17), 1300 Harrison St. (Sept. 18), 1800 Fillmore St. (Sept. 28) and 2800 Disston St. (Sept. 18). Others took place at an apartment building at 5200 Oakland St. (Sept. 28), an office building at 4300 Torresdale Ave. (Sept. 21) and a daycare facility at 2700 Knorr St. (Sept. 27).

There were 112 thefts, which targeted 54 vehicles (including two stolen car phones and 16 stolen vehicle tags), 27 businesses, 17 street thefts, eight private residences, three bicycles, an apartment house, a public school and a hospital. Ten arrests were made.
