Police investigating after women targeted by pervert

Investigators are talking to a man who allegedly attempted to lure women three separate times last week in Mayfair and Tacony.

Police released a photo of the suspect over the weekend.

Police are talking to a suspect who allegedly attempted to lure women — and, in one case, exposed himself — in a series of incidents last week in the Northeast.

Over the weekend, authorities released a photograph of the man, and police said he has been identified and talking with investigators from the Special Victims Unit. However, as of Tuesday, formal charges have yet to be filed.

In the most recent incident, which occurred around 8 a.m. Friday on the 3200 block of Ryan Avenue, a man inside a car asked a woman who was walking if she would like to make money. As she began to walk away, he appeared to be trying to exit the car, police said.

The day before, at 4:30 p.m., a woman was in the area of Cottman and Frankford avenues when a man rolled up in his car and asked if she wanted to make money, authorities said. When she said “no,” the suspect got out of the car, claimed he was a police officer and said he had a firearm, according to police.

The first reported incident happened at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, on the 4900 block of Cottman. A woman was waiting for a bus when she was approached by a man on foot who asked if she wanted to make $100.

When the victim looked over, she saw the suspect exposing himself, police said. She went to call 911, and he ran down the 7300 block of Ditman Street, authorities said. ••
