The Northeast Times provides an overview of crimes reported to the four police districts in the Northeast. The details are based on reports compiled by the Northeast Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Dec. 23 through Jan. 5

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd Police District

There were five reported robberies. Kamar Thompson, 32, was arrested Jan. 4 following a robbery on the street at 600 Magee Ave. Robberies took place at businesses at 5900 Rising Sun Ave. (Dec. 27) and 6400 Castor Ave. (Dec. 23), on the street at 5700 Weymouth St. (Dec. 25) and at a private residence at 600 Levick St. (Dec. 25)

There were five aggravated assaults, which resulted in three arrests. Marvin Fuentes, 24, and Joel Ramirez, 24, were arrested Dec. 24 after an assault involving a handgun at a private residence at 6100 Alma St. Lawrence Jones, 46, was arrested Dec. 31 following an assault at a retail location at 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. Other assaults took place at private residences at 5100 F St. (Jan. 2), 500 Rosalie St. (Dec. 28) and 2000 Ripley St. (Jan. 4).

There were six burglaries, which took place at private residences at 7400 Shisler St. (Jan. 1), 6800 Roosevelt Blvd. (Dec. 31) and 6900 Oakley St. (Dec. 28). Others took place at an apartment house at 500 Hill Creek Park (Dec. 27), a chain store at 2200 Cottman Ave. (Dec. 28) and a food store at 900 Levick St. (Dec. 24).

There were 68 thefts, which targeted 38 businesses, 16 vehicles (including three stolen vehicle tags), seven street thefts, four private residences, an apartment house, a bicycle and an athletic field/playground. Four arrests were made.

7th Police District

There were no reported robberies or aggravated assaults.

A burglary took place Dec. 24 at an apartment house at 8100 Summerdale Ave. 

There were 20 thefts, which targeted 11 businesses, four vehicles, a street theft, a private residence, a bicycle, a nursing/retirement home and a public school. Four arrests were made. In addition, one vehicle was reported stolen, and one was recovered.

8th Police District

There were five robberies, which took place on the street at 9200 State Road (Dec. 30) and 1455 Franklin Mills Circle (Dec. 28), an office building at 0 Old Ashton Road (Jan. 2), a gas station at 9000 Frankford Ave. (Dec. 27) and an unlisted location at 100 Franklin Mills Blvd. (Dec. 27). 

There were four aggravated assaults. Ian Murphy, 31, was arrested Dec. 26 following an assault at a private residence at 12600 Medford Road that took place the previous day. Other assaults took place at an apartment house at 8200 Frankford Ave. (Dec. 31), a private residence at 4200 Chalfont Place (Dec. 29) that involved a handgun and on the street at 9200 Roosevelt Blvd. (Jan. 1) that involved a handgun.

There were three burglaries and one attempt. Burglaries took place at private residences at 8900 Fairfield St. (Dec. 27) and 2700 Meyer Place (Jan. 4) and at an apartment house at 2400 Ashwood Ave. (Dec. 31). There was a burglary attempt at an apartment house at 1100 Stewards Way (Jan. 2). 

There were 36 thefts, which targeted 22 businesses, six vehicles (including three stolen vehicle tags), three street thefts, two private residences, an apartment house, a public school and an unlisted location. Four arrests were made. In addition, five vehicles were reported stolen, and five were recovered.

15th Police District

There were 13 robberies, which resulted in two arrests. Michael Graham, 24, was arrested Dec. 31 following a robbery of a chain store at 5200 Torresdale Ave. with a handgun, and Ryan V. Henderson, 20, was arrested Dec. 26 following the robbery of a bar/taproom at 4600 E. Thompson St. Robberies on the street took place at 7300 Brous Ave. (Jan. 1) with a handgun, 2600 Levick St. (Jan. 2) with a knife, 2300 Orthodox St. (Dec. 25), 1500 Pratt St. (Dec. 26), the intersection of Magee Avenue and Revere Street (Dec. 26), 1600 Pratt St. (Jan. 4) and a vehicle parked at 4300 Cottman Ave. (Jan. 5) with a handgun. Other robberies took place at retail locations at 6200 Frankford Ave. (Jan. 3) with a gun and 1600 Bridge St. (Dec. 23) with a knife, an office building at 7200 Frankford Ave. (Dec. 25) and an apartment house at the intersection of Frankford Avenue and Foulkrod Road (Jan. 2). 

There were 23 aggravated assaults, which resulted in 11 arrests. Assaults on the street took place at 6500 Cottage St. (Dec. 25, Luis Cruz-Gonzalez, 29), 1700 Hawthorn St. (Dec. 27), 5000 Friendship St. (Jan. 1, Champin Vital, 42) and the intersection of Pratt and Darrah streets (Jan. 4), all of which involved handguns; 4200 Tackawanna St. (Dec. 23) and 7100 Vandike St. (Dec. 25), which involved knives; the intersection of Cottman and Torresdale avenues (Dec. 23), 3200 Ryan Ave. (Dec. 23), 4900 Frankford Ave. (Dec. 27) and 5200 Darrah St. (Dec. 30), all of which involved weapons; and 5100 Frankford Ave. (Dec. 30), which did not involve a weapon. Assaults at private residences happened at 4200 Tackawanna St. (Dec. 24, Rahsaan Wise, 41), 1300 Arrott St. (Dec. 29, Alice C. Willis, 56), 4500 Tudor St. (Dec. 29, Samuel Toe, 77), 4700 Tacony St. (Jan. 4, Andrew Rhody, 25), 5100 Akron St. (Jan. 5, Tamika Baker, 40), 5900 Tacony St. (Dec. 29) and 4500 Oakland St. (Jan. 5), all of which were domestic assaults; 4800 E. Thompson St. (Dec. 25), 4600 Oakmont St. (Dec. 26, Andrea Broadnax, 23) and 5400 Charles St. (Jan. 5, Walter Rodriguez, 24), all of which involved knives. Other assaults took place at an apartment house at 1500 Harrison St. (Dec. 31, Karim Williams, 20), which involved a handgun, and a hospital at 4900 Frankford Ave. (Jan. 4, Quadira A. Sorrell, 20). 

There were 14 burglaries and one attempt, most of which targeted private residences. These took place at 5000 F St. (Dec. 24), 1900 Fillmore Place (Dec. 26), 1600 Granite St. (Dec. 25), 4600 Shelmire Ave. (Dec. 24), 4700 Loring St. (Dec. 30), 4100 Stirling St. (Dec. 31), 2800 Glenview St. (Jan. 2), 4900 E. Cheltenham Ave. (Jan. 3), 1800 Pratt St. (Dec. 27) and 6100 Algard St. (Jan. 4) as well as an attempt at 4900 Pennway St. (Dec. 28). Other burglaries took place at an apartment house at 1600 Bridge St. (Dec. 29), a commercial garage at 4100 Torresdale Ave. (Jan. 1), a cleaner/Laundromat at 5100 Darrah St. (Dec. 23) and a retail location at 7300 Milnor St. (Dec. 25).

There were 81 thefts, which targeted 32 vehicles (including seven stolen car phones and seven stolen vehicle tags), 30 businesses, eight street thefts, eight private residences, two bicycles and a SEPTA bus/trolley. Six arrests were made.
