Two seriously injured in Burholme fire

Four people were taken to the hospital Tuesday following a fire on the 7300 block of Ryers Avenue.

Four people were hospitalized following an early morning house fire Tuesday on the 7300 block of Ryers Avenue in Burholme, authorities said.

Firefighters rescued an 82-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man and transported them to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in critical condition, according to multiple media reports. Two others were taken to the hospital with less serious injuries. 

The blaze was under control by 6:30 a.m., according to the fire department. The fire’s source is being investigated. ••
