Apply for career training program

JEVS Human Services has some seats open for its youth program, Project WOW (World of Work), that starts in March. The program is located at JEVS’ career training school, Orleans Technical College, 2770 Red Lion Road.

This 24-week, grant-funded program is no cost to low-income, high school dropouts, ages 18-24, residing in Philadelphia. Project WOW helps youth to complete their education while providing career pathways training in the building trades and information technology fields. The hands-on job skills they gain will prepare them for employment that will lead to long-term self-sufficiency.

Project WOW also provides GED test preparation; résumé and interviewing skills development; in-house job search assistance with a JEVS employment specialist; and apprenticeship and industry certification opportunities. Graduates of the program can take advantage of expanded supports, including paid internships, leadership development training and scholarship funds.

For more information about the program and eligibility requirements, call 215-728-4212 or request info at www.jevshumanservices.org/project-wow-form. ••
