Crime log: July 1, 2020

The Northeast Times provides an overview of crimes reported to the four police districts in the Northeast. The details are based on reports compiled by the Northeast Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.

June 8 through 21

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd Police District

There were seven robberies. Incidents on the street happened at 2300 Faunce St. (June 12) with a handgun, 6400 Castor Ave. (June 8) with a knife and 5800 Rising Sun Ave. (June 10) and 7900 Ridgeway St. (June 13) with no weapons. Other robberies targeted retail locations at 5700 Oxford Ave. (June 21) and 2400 Cottman Ave. (June 20) and a gas station at 7400 Bustleton Ave. (June 20).

There were 10 aggravated assaults, which resulted in five arrests. Assaults on the street happened at 1200 Unruh Ave. (June 10) with a handgun and 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. (June 10), 5200 Tabor Ave. (June 15) and 6800 Bustleton Ave. (June 19) with knives. Assaults at private residences happened at 500 Van Kirk St. (June 17, James Tahmen, 24), 2100 Princeton Ave. (June 14, Raiath Samy, 43), 1400 Kerper St. (June 20, Ruclesse Blanc, 29) and 7200 Oakland St. (June 21, Tariq Hussain, 31). Other assaults happened at a retail location at 6800 Bustleton Ave. (June 18, Hakeem Barry, 37) with a knife and at an apartment house at 600 Kerper St. (June 16).

The three burglaries happened at a private residence at 1300 Levick St. (June 20), a food store at 6300 Castor Ave. (June 16) and an amusement center at the intersection of Cheltenham and Loretta avenues (June 11). 

There were 61 thefts, which targeted 22 vehicles (including five stolen vehicle tags), 18 businesses, 13 street thefts (including a pickpocketing), four private residences, two bicycles, a daycare facility and a pawn shop. Three arrests were made.

7th Police District

The only reported robbery took place at a vehicle located at 9200 Roosevelt Blvd. on June 17. 

There were three aggravated assaults. Robert Perez, 40, was arrested June 8 following an assault involving a knife on the street at 2100 Benson St. Fnu Ambily-Alexander, 25, was arrested June 11 following an assault involving a knife at a private residence at 10100 Proctor Road. An assault with a handgun took place on the street at the intersection of Bustleton and Grant avenues on June 21.

There were three burglary attempts at private residences at 1900 Goodnaw St. (June 9) and 9700 Cowden St. (June 10) and an apartment house at 2100 Grant Ave. (June 10).

There were 24 thefts, which targeted 13 vehicles (including two stolen vehicle tags), five businesses, three street thefts, a bicycle, a private residence and an apartment house. Two arrests were made. In addition, four vehicles were stolen, and three were recovered.

8th Police District

There were three robberies, which took place at a chain food store at 9000 Frankford Ave. (June 9), a chain retail store at 9700 Roosevelt Blvd. (June 16) and a private residence at 2600 Welsh Road (June 12).

There were three aggravated assaults, which took place on the street at 2600 Welsh Road (June 12), 2500 Welsh Road (June 15) and 4500 Enfield Ave. (June 18).

There were four burglaries, which took place at a private residence at 3600 Red Lion Road (June 21), an apartment house at 9900 Academy Road (June 13), a gas station at 9900 Frankford Ave. (June 13) and a department store at 9700 Roosevelt Blvd. (June 18).

There were 25 thefts, which targeted 16 businesses, seven vehicles, a street theft and a private residence. Two arrests were made.

15th Police District

There were 10 robberies. Incidents on the street happened at 5200 Frankford Ave. (June 10) with a handgun, 7200 Marsden St. (June 21) with a knife, 1900 Gillingham St. (June 8) with a weapon and 1600 Margaret St. (June 11), 4200 Kensington Ave. (June 12), 7200 Erdrick St. (June 17) and 4200 Torresdale Ave. (June 21) with no weapons. Other robberies happened at private residences at 6500 Vandyke St. (June 10) and 4400 Loring St. (June 8) and a retail location at 2800 Cottman Ave. (June 9).

There were 26 aggravated assaults, which resulted in six arrests. Assaults on the street happened at 6000 Frankford Ave. (June 11), 2000 Carver St. (June 13), 4000 Frankford Ave. (June 16), 5400 Valley St. (June 16, Anthony Pagan, 29), 3300 Rhawn St. (June 18) and 1300 Orthodox St. (June 20), all of which involved firearms; 3100 Cottman Ave. (June 13), which involved a knife; 5100 Marlow St. (June 8), 1700 Orthodox St. (June 14) and 5200 Frankford Ave. (June 21, Kenneth Davis, 49), which involved weapons; 4900 Frankford Ave. (June 19), which involved no weapons; domestic assaults at 1700 Brill St. (June 9) and 1600 Pratt St. (June 19) and an assault on police at 1200 E. Wyoming Ave. (June 11). Assaults at private residences happened at 4300 Penn St. (June 15), which involved a handgun; 4600 Hedge St. (June 9, Lance Moore, 31) and 3200 Englewood St. (June 18), which involved knives; and domestic assaults at 2100 Anchor St. (June 19, Demetrius Williford, 24), 3300 Glenview St. (June 9, William Limper, 59), 1700 Bridge St. (June 8), 5100 Leiper St. (June 8), 4600 Adams Ave. (June 14) and 1600 Brill St. (June 15). Reuben Fleury, 33, was arrested June 19 following three assaults on police at a police station at 2800 Levick St. 

There were 13 burglaries and one attempt, which resulted in two arrests. Burglaries at private residences happened at 7700 Torresdale Ave. (June 11), 7900 Roosevelt Blvd. (June 12), 4900 Knorr St. (June 15) and 1300 Wakeling St. (June 18, Reuben Fleury, 33). Apartment houses were targeted at 4400 Disston St. (June 14), 6300 Tacony St. (June 16), 5700 Cottage St. (June 10), 6900 Keystone St. (June 14) and 2900 Benner St. (June 21) and an attempt at 5200 Cottage St. (June 9, Erin Williams 43). Retail locations were targeted at 4300 Frankford Ave. (June 20), 6400 Torresdale Ave. (June 16) and twice at 4300 Frankford Ave. (June 9).

There were 71 thefts, which targeted 29 vehicles (including four stolen car phones and 12 stolen vehicle tags), 19 street thefts (including a purse snatching), 11 businesses, six private residences, four apartment houses, a bicycle and an unlisted location.
