Crime log: Nov. 18, 2020

The Northeast Times provides an overview of crimes reported to the four police districts in the Northeast. The details are based on reports compiled by the Northeast Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Oct. 26 through Nov. 8

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd District Police

There were 19 robberies. Andy Marrero-Hernandez, 34, was arrested Nov. 8 following a robbery of a vehicle parked on the 6500 block of Bustleton Avenue. Robberies on the street with handguns happened at 6600 Souder St. (Oct. 26), 6300 Everett Ave. (Oct. 26), 6100 Algon Ave. (Oct. 31), 5900 Newtown Ave. (Nov. 2), 5100 Montour St. (Nov. 4), 5800 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 6) and a vehicle parked at 1100 Devereaux Ave. (Oct. 27); an incident with another weapon happened at 6200 Langdon St. (Oct. 30); and incidents with no weapons happened at 5800 Oxford Ave. (Oct. 26), 900 Anchor St. (Oct. 29), 6200 Langdon St. (Oct. 30), 6600 Castor Ave. (Nov. 3), 500 E. Godfrey Ave. (Nov. 4) and 6700 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 6). Other robberies happened at private residences at 6000 Agusta St. (Oct. 27) and 1100 Tyson Ave. (Oct. 27), a gas station at 5700 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 6) and a mini market at 6600 Castor Ave. (Nov. 4).

There were 17 aggravated assaults, which resulted in four arrests. Assaults on the street included incidents with handguns at 6000 Rising Sun Ave. (Oct. 27), the intersection of F and Garland streets (Oct. 27, Angel Perezluna, 23), 1100 E. Cheltenham Ave. (Oct. 30), 7000 Souder St. (Nov. 5) and 2200 Longshore Ave. (Nov. 5); an assault with a knife at 5700 Oxford Ave. (Nov. 7); assaults with other weapons at 6900 Castor Ave. (Nov. 4) and three times at 7600 Large St. (Oct. 26, Michael Golaschevsky, 59); and a domestic assault at 6000 Newtown Ave. (Nov. 7). Domestic assaults happened at private residences at 600 E. Godfrey Ave. (Nov. 4), 900 Hartel Ave. (Oct. 31) and 6000 Belden St. (Oct. 30) as well as an assault with a weapon at 1300 Gilham St. (Oct. 28). Domestic assaults took place at apartment houses at 5700 Rising Sun Ave. (Nov. 6, Kharey Bailey-Thomas, 23) and 500 Devereaux Ave. (Nov. 3, Rafael Santos).

There were 52 burglaries, including 47 that targeted businesses and five that targeted private residences. Police made 22 arrests in connection to burglaries. 

There were 59 thefts, which targeted 25 vehicles, 23 businesses, eight street thefts, a private residence, an apartment house and a bicycle. Four arrests were made.

7th Police District

There were three robberies, which took place on the street at 1700 Kendrick St. (Oct. 28) and 1800 Tolbut St. (Oct. 27), both of which involved handguns, and at a private residence at 100 Rennard Place (Oct. 31), which did not involve a weapon.

There were five aggravated assaults. Lander Salguero, 34, was arrested Nov. 8 following a domestic assault at a private residence at 1800 Emerson St. Other assaults happened on the street at 200 Radburn Road with a handgun (Nov. 6) and 9700 Hilspach St. with a weapon (Nov. 7), a domestic assault at an apartment house at 9400 Clark St. (Oct. 30) and an assault with a knife at a hotel/motel at 11500 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 5).

There were four burglaries and four burglary attempts. The burglaries took place at a private residence at 8200 Jeanes St. (Oct. 29), a gas station at 9900 Roosevelt Blvd. (Oct. 31), a liquor store at 8200 Roosevelt Blvd. (Oct. 29) and a cleaner/Laundromat at 8200 Roosevelt Blvd. (Oct. 29). The attempts happened at private residences at 2300 Fuller St. (Oct. 26) and 2300 Rhawn St. (Oct. 26), an apartment house at 8700 Frontenac St. (Oct. 29) and a doctor’s office at 11000 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 1).

There were 42 thefts, which targeted 17 vehicles (including five stolen vehicle tags), 15 businesses, seven street thefts and three apartment houses. One arrest was made.

8th Police District

There were two robberies. Matthew Hancock, 34, Paige Hutchinson, 21, and Victoria Sharp, 33, were arrested Nov. 4 and 5 following a robbery at an apartment house at 4500 Enfield Ave. involving a handgun. A factory/warehouse at 3600 Welsh Road was robbed Oct. 28.

There were 12 aggravated assaults. Peter Lewis, 23, and Naseer Richardson, 20, were arrested Oct. 28 following an assault on police on the street at 11000 Roosevelt Blvd., and Ariana Cruz, 26, was arrested Nov. 3 following a domestic assault at a private residence at 4400 Tolbut St. Other assaults happened on the street at 4000 Evarts St. (Oct. 29) and the intersection of Craig Street and Welsh Road (Nov. 3), twice at an athletic field/playground at 9100 Academy Road (Nov. 8), at a bar at 3200 Red Lion Road (Nov. 6), a rooming house/shelter at 9000 Revere St. (Nov. 8) and a private residence at 2800 Michael Road (Nov. 8). There were two assaults at prison facilities at 8300 State Road (Oct. 28) and 8000 State Road (Nov. 5) and outside at 8000 State Road (Oct. 27).

There were 17 burglaries. Businesses burglarized included drug stores at 8000 Frankford Ave. (Oct. 27), 2500 Welsh Road (Oct. 28), 8800 Frankford Ave. (Oct. 28) and 8500 Frankford Ave. (Oct. 28), a gas station at 9400 Roosevelt Blvd. (Oct. 27), a clothing store at 9100 Roosevelt Blvd. (Oct. 27), an appliance dealer at 9400 Roosevelt Blvd. (Oct. 27), a mini market at 2900 Welsh Road (Oct. 28), a liquor store at 8800 Frankford Ave. (Oct. 28), a cleaner/Laundromat at 9100 Frankford Ave. (Oct. 31) and a chain store at 3200 Red Lion Road (Oct. 27). Other burglaries happened at private residences at 1200 Stewards Way (Nov. 4) and 8000 Moro St. (Oct. 28), apartment houses at 11900 Academy Road (Oct. 29 and Nov. 3) and storage facilities at 12000 Roosevelt Blvd. (Nov. 4) and 2700 Grant Ave. (Oct. 26).

There were 37 thefts, which targeted 16 vehicles (including a stolen vehicle tag), 14 businesses, six street thefts and a private residence. In addition, four vehicles were reported stolen, and three were recovered.

15th Police District

There were 20 robberies. Incidents on the street involving handguns happened at 6400 Sackett St. (Oct. 26), 5900 Charles St. (Oct. 27), 5200 Frankford Ave. (Oct. 29), 1800 Fillmore St. (Nov. 3), 4800 Rosalie St. (Nov. 5), the intersection of Margaret Street and Frankford Avenue (Nov. 5), 3200 Disston St. (Nov. 7), 6000 Ditman St. (Nov. 7), 7400 Battersby St. (Nov. 7) and vehicles parked at 4900 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 1), 2900 Disston St. (Nov. 5) and 7600 Frankford Ave. (Nov. 5); an incident with a knife at 5300 Gillespie St. (Oct. 27); and two incidents with no weapons at 4300 Frankford Ave. (Oct. 31) and a vehicle parked at 4200 Wellington St. (Nov. 4). Other robberies happened at private residences at 3500 Aldine St. (Nov. 5) with a handgun and 1300 Orthodox St. (Nov. 8), and an apartment house at 1300 Arrott St. (Oct. 31).

There were 41 aggravated assaults. On the street, there were three domestic assaults, 13 involving handguns, two involving knives, six involving other weapons, and two assaults on police. In private residences, there were seven domestic assaults, one involving a handgun and two involving knives. Otherwise, there were two assaults at apartment houses and three at businesses. Seven people were arrested.

There were 44 burglaries, including 33 that targeted businesses, six at private residences, one at an apartment house, one at a doctor’s office, one on the street, one at a bank and one at an unlisted location. Twelve arrests were made in connection to burglaries.

There were 76 thefts, which targeted 38 vehicles, 16 businesses, nine street thefts, nine private residences, an apartment house, a bicycle, an ATM and an unlisted location. One arrest was made. In addition, 38 vehicles were reported stolen, and 38 were recovered.
