Murray talks politics, Toys for Tots

Republican City Council candidate Drew Murray last week held a fundraiser that doubled as a collection event for Toys for Tots.

The Dec. 8 event took place on Dec. 8 at Chickie’s & Pete’s, 11000 Roosevelt Blvd. Among those in attendance was city elections commissioner Seth Bluestein.

Murray, a married father of two, is running for an at-large seat. He supports wage tax reduction, educational choice, universal pre-kindergarten, an increase in the number of police officers and repeal of the beverage tax, and opposes safe injection sites.

The candidate believes Philadelphia needs to prosecute more illegal gun and retail theft cases, faulting District Attorney Larry Krasner.

“We need to hold Krasner accountable,” Murray said. “I think we need to call him out publicly.” ••
