Oasis Manor, 7040-7052 Oxford Ave. in Burholme, is hosting tours for its new independent senior living community.
The site offers newly renovated studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments and is open to people 62 and older. There are 57 units rented at market rate.
The rooms rent for $1,000 to $1,800 per month, with no entrance fee. Amenities include room air conditioners, ovens, microwaves, refrigerators and roll-in/walk-in showers. Rooms are geared to, among others, couples and people who are downsizing.
The Oasis Manor campus is almost 3 acres and includes free laundry service, a courtyard, picnic benches, a walking trail, a cafeteria, common areas, a gazebo, elevators, a library/chapel, 40-plus parking spaces, a sprinkler system, security cameras and free WiFi in common spaces.
There is also office space for social service providers and a beauty shop, and a resident coordinator will be hired for activities such as bingo.
The property has offered senior living for decades. It’s the former home of the German Baptist Home for the Aged, North American Baptist Home, Pilgrim Gardens and Wesley Enhanced Living Burholme.
On the Rising Sun Avenue side of the same property is another independent senior living community operated by NewCourtland, though the buildings are separate.
