Cranaleith celebrates 20 years

Cranaleith Spiritual Center, 13475 Proctor Road in Somerton, celebrated its 20th anniversary during a gala at KnowltonĀ Mansion.

More than 200 business and nonprofit leaders and philanthropists attended theĀ event.

ā€œTonight gives us the opportunity to celebrate Cranaleith’s first 20 years, the 80 seasons that Cranaleith has been a place of transformation and healing for thousands, including those living in poverty, people struggling with addiction and those with mental health issues,ā€ said Charlene Flaherty, Cranaleith executive director.

Sharmain Matlock-Turner, president and CEO, Urban Affairs Coalition, and Maureen H. McCullough, Northeast/Mid-Atlantic regional director of Catholic Relief Services, received the Catherine McAuleyĀ Award.

Rose Martin, Hope Partnership for Education, received the Cranaleith FoundersĀ Award.

Cranaleith, which means ā€œsanctuary of treesā€ in Gaelic, is a retreat and conference center located on a 10-acre property. Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, their mission is to offer a contemplative space for all those seeking reflection, renewal and transformation.
