A 43-year-old woman was reportedly stabbed 16 times in Wissinoming by a man who was under the influence of drugs and later died.
The stabbing occurred around 6:30 p.m. Sunday on the 5700 block of Erdrick Street, police said. A 43-year-old man stabbed the woman multiple times in the arm, neck and face, according to police.
Authorities said the two people involved knew each other.
The woman was taken to Einstein Hospital and placed in critical condition, while the man was transported to Jefferson Frankford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:18 p.m., police said.
Investigators recovered a weapon at the scene. ••
