Man in critical condition after Rhawnhurst shooting

A 23-year-old man was shot early Friday morning following a Halloween party, police said.

A 23-year-old man was fighting for his life after he was shot early Friday morning outside a Rhawnhurst bar and restaurant following a Halloween party, police said.

Authorities said the man was shot once in the lower back around 2:20 a.m. near Bustleton Avenue and Stanwood Street. He was taken by private vehicle to Nazareth Hospital before being transferred to Temple University Hospital, where he is in critical condition, police said.

Investigators said a fight outside Mediterranean 2000, 8026 Bustleton Ave., led to the shooting. A large group was fighting in the street after a party at the bar let out, said Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum of Northeast Detectives.

Someone left the area and came back with a gun, he added. 

Police are going through surveillance video in an attempt to identify the suspect. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday. ••
