Crime log: Feb. 19, 2020

The Northeast Times provides an overview of crimes reported to the four police districts in the Northeast. The details are based on reports compiled by the Northeast Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Feb. 3 through 16

As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides, sexual assaults, narcotics offenses or other specific crimes investigated by special police units. All locations listed by block, not by exact address.

2nd Police District

There were 14 robberies. Jante Owen, 22, was arrested Feb. 9 following robberies on the street at 1500 Knorr St. and 1300 Unruh Ave. Robberies on the street with handguns happened at 2000 Longshore Ave. (Feb. 3), 6100 Large St. (Feb. 5), twice at 1500 Longshore Ave. (Feb. 9 and 10) and 5900 Roosevelt Blvd. (Feb. 14); a robbery with another weapon happened at 6700 Castor Ave. (Feb. 9); and robberies with no weapons happened at 6700 Rutland St. (Feb. 4), 6500 Rising Sun Ave. (Feb. 7) and 6000 Belden St. (Feb. 15). Others took place at a restaurant at 2000 Cottman Ave. (Feb. 6), a food store at 7900 Roosevelt Blvd. (Feb. 10) and a private residence at 6200 Castor Ave. (Feb. 11).

There were 10 aggravated assaults, which yielded two arrests. Crisanto C. Maquin, 37, was arrested Feb. 16 following an assault at a bar/cafe at 7500 Castor Ave. with a knife, and Mikhail Terrioschin, 26, was arrested Feb. 9 following a domestic assault at an apartment house at 6500 Bustleton Ave. Assaults on the street with guns happened at 7400 Bustleton Ave. (Feb. 13), 5900 Langdon St. (Feb. 13) and the intersection of Oxford Avenue and Langdon Street (Feb. 13), and assaults with other weapons happened at 7100 Lynford St. (Feb. 5) and 7400 Algon Ave. (Feb. 11). Other assaults happened at an apartment house at 1200 Robbins St. (Feb. 14) and a private residence at 7600 Rising Sun Ave. (Feb. 10).

There were seven burglaries, most of which took place at private residences. These happened at 6000 Bingham St. (Feb. 6), 1200 Elbridge St. (Feb. 7), 1300 McKinley St. (Feb. 6), 7200 Leonard St. (Feb. 8) and 700 Smylie Road (Feb. 14). Other burglaries happened at an apartment house at 6900 Sylvester St. (Feb. 5) and a grocery store/deli at 6000 Castor Ave. (Feb. 3). 

There were 110 thefts, which targeted 50 vehicles (including a stolen car phone and 12 stolen vehicle tags), 50 businesses, four private residences, two street thefts, an apartment house, an office building, a bicycle and a hospital. Six arrests were made.

7th Police District

In the only reported robbery, Keith O. Roemhild, 37, was arrested Feb. 14 following a robbery of a hotel/motel at 11500 Roosevelt Blvd.

There were three aggravated assaults. David Weinberg, 39, was arrested Feb. 4 following an assault on the street at 8000 Bustleton Ave. Anthony Daye, 31, was arrested Feb. 16 following a domestic assault at an apartment house at 10700 Haldeman Ave. Another assault took place on the street at 10900 Nandina Court on Feb. 10.

There were five burglaries and one attempt. Burglaries at private residences happened at 11000 Bustleton Ave. (Feb. 4), 2000 Tomlinson Road (Feb. 4), 600 Rennard St. (Feb. 7) and 10700 Heather St. as well as an attempt at 11000 Bustleton Ave. (Feb. 7). An apartment house at 2000 Welsh Road was burglarized Feb. 14.

There were 29 thefts, which targeted 11 vehicles (including a stolen vehicle tag), 10 businesses, three private residences, two apartment houses, a street theft, a doctor’s office and an unlisted location. Two arrests were made. In addition, four vehicles were reported stolen, and four were recovered. One arrest was made.

8th Police District

There were four robberies. Incidents on the street involving handguns happened at 4600 Strahle St. (Feb. 12), the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Holme Avenue (Feb. 14) and a vehicle parked at 3500 Solly Ave. (Feb. 4). A chain store at 9100 Roosevelt Blvd. was robbed Feb. 11.

There were 12 aggravated assaults. Jason Wilkin, 41, was arrested Feb. 13 following a domestic assault at a private residence at 2800 Walnut Hill St., and Christopher Peters, 22, was arrested Feb. 16 following a domestic assault on the street at 8000 Roosevelt Blvd. Assaults on the street happened at 2500 Grant Ave. on Feb. 16 with a handgun, 4500 Enfield St. on Feb. 15 with a weapon and domestic assaults at 8900 Maxwell Place on Feb. 5 and 15000 Roosevelt Blvd. on Feb. 7. Assaults at prison facilities included three incidents with knives at 8000 State Road (twice on Feb. 7 and once on Feb. 11) and another assault at 8100 State Road (Feb. 11). Other assaults happened at a private residence at 2900 Willits Road (Feb. 15) and a public school at 3600 Stanwood St. (Feb. 3).

The four burglaries took place at apartment houses at 2600 Welsh Road (Feb. 14) and 3200 Red Lion Road (Feb. 11), a private residence at 3600 N. Hereford Lane (Feb. 6) and an office building at 8900 Frankford Ave.

There were 45 thefts, which targeted 20 businesses, 14 vehicles (including a stolen car phone and two stolen vehicle tags), four street thefts (including a pickpocketing), an athletic field/playground, a private residence, an apartment house, a parking lot/garage and three unlisted locations. Four arrests were made.

15th Police District

There were 18 robberies. Quentin Ross, 18, was arrested Feb. 9 following a robbery at the intersection of Comly and Penn streets with a handgun, and Kendall Leach, 21, was arrested Feb. 11 following a robbery of Philadelphia city property at 2800 Levick St. Assaults on the street with handguns happened at 4400 Paul St. (Feb. 7), 4600 Howell St. (Feb. 8), 1600 Howell St. (Feb. 11) and 4500 Comly St. (Feb. 12); with a knife at 1500 Church St. (Feb. 4); with another weapon at 1600 Granite St. (Feb. 13); and with no weapons at 5200 Frankford Ave. (Feb. 4), 4700 Longshore Ave. (Feb. 5), 4800 Knorr St. (Feb. 8), 5200 Penn St. (Feb. 10), 3000 Princeton Ave. (Feb. 11) and 5000 Torresdale Ave. (Feb. 12); and at a vehicle parked at the intersection of James and Margaret streets (Feb. 16). Other robberies happened at a restaurant at 4700 Frankford Ave. (Feb. 6), a drug store at 6300 Frankford Ave. (Feb. 16) and a food store at 6900 Torresdale Ave. (Feb. 8).

There were 19 aggravated assaults, which resulted in six arrests. Assaults at private residences included domestic assaults at 5100 Whitaker Ave. (Feb. 3, Olivia Walters, 27), 3200 Englewood St. (Feb. 4) and 1100 Herbert St. (Feb. 12, Jainlett Quanon, 26); assaults with handguns at 4700 Princeton Ave (Feb. 14), thrice at 6600 Montague St. (Feb. 10); and assaults with knives at 4700 Leiper St. (Feb. 5, Dominique Day-Harris, 28) and 6200 Cottage St. (Feb. 7). Assaults on the street with handguns happened at 6800 Torresdale Ave. (Feb. 8), 4600 Castor Ave. (Feb. 8, Anthony Cruz, 25), 4700 Meridian St. (Feb. 9) and 6900 Frankford Ave. (Feb. 16) as well as an assault with a knife at 6200 Cottage St. (Feb. 7). Other assaults included domestic assaults at apartment houses at 6700 Torresdale Ave. (Feb. 11, Fred Revere, 26) and 5000 Frankford Ave. (Feb. 13), an assault with a handgun at a public school at 4300 E. Wingohocking St. (Feb. 11, Brandon Ostolaza, 22), an assault with a handgun at a grocery store/deli at 4000 Creston St. (Feb. 15), and at a mental institution at 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. (Feb. 15).

There were five burglaries, which happened at private residences at 1300 Wakeling St. (Feb. 6) and 4200 Paul St. (Feb. 14), an apartment house at 4400 Cottman Ave. (Feb. 6), a barber shop/beauty salon at 5300 Oxford Ave. (Feb. 13) and another retail location at 4600 Frankford Ave. (Feb. 6).

There were 96 thefts, which targeted 37 vehicles (including a stolen car phone and five stolen vehicle tags), 31 businesses, 12 street thefts, nine private residences, three SEPTA elevated stations, two bicycles, an office building and an unlisted location. Six arrests were made.
