ArchWell opens in the Northeast

Greater Kensington String Band

ArchWell Health last week cut the ribbon on its new site at 4011 Cottman Ave., the former home of a Rite Aid.

A week earlier, ArchWell opened a site at 3250 Red Lion Road.

Nashville-based ArchWell offers primary care to Medicare Advantage-eligible adults 60-plus.

In Philadelphia, there are eight sites. Hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Among those who attended the official opening of the Cottman Avenue site – which has been open since March 9 – were Palak Raval-Nelson, commissioner of the city Department of Public Health, and ArchWell CEO Carl Whitmer.

WURD broadcast live from the grand opening, and Mayfair Business Improvement District executive director Donny Smith pulled the winning raffle tickets for a television and an air fryer.

The day also included a food truck, tours, vendors and an appearance by the Greater Kensington String Band.

ArchWell offers, among other things, preventive healthcare screenings; same-day appointments for urgent care needs; activities; longer appointment times; and complimentary transportation. ••
